Lot 583E: the wildcard entry Green Storm is bought to go to Qatar, joining the team of horses bought yesterday and today by Gassim Ghazali. The colt is the most expensive bought so far by Ghazali, the trainer having to go to 380,000gns to secure the three-year-old.
"He ran in the Derby and was fifth at Royal Ascot in the King Edward VII Stakes, I am very lucky to have been able to buy this horse," he said. "He will fit into the programme, travelling to Qatar shortly with a plan to run in the Qatar Derby and then, hopefully, the big races in the region through the spring. Buying at the July Sales gives enough time for the horses to acclimatise before the winter season."
He added: "He could be a horse to run back in Europe – I have done that before and I am keen to do that again."
Green Storm, by Circus Maximus, is Timeform rated 108, was previously in training with Charlie Johnson for owner Ahmad Al Shaikh. He has run nine times, won once and been placed on five occasions. (16:51)
Lot 575: creates a new record price for the July Sale – Orchid Bouquet selling for 550,000gns, bought by Badgers Bloodstock.
By Kingman, who has had such an amazing year on the track, the three-year-old filly is from one of Juddmonte's leading families, being a daughter of the Group 3 winner and the Prix Marcel Boussac (G1) runner-up Helloborine (Observatory), and an own-sister to the Coventry Stakes (G2) winner Calyx and the Listed winner Coppice.
Second dam New Orchid is dam of the Haydock Sprint Cup (G1) winner African Rose, and grand-dam of the Dewhurst Stakes (G1), Irish 2,000 Guineas and National Stakes (G1) winner Native Trail. The third dam Musicanti is the dam of another Dewhurst Stakes (G1) winner in Distant Music.
Grant Pritchard-Gordon, who was racing manager for Juddmonte for 17 years from 1982, said: "I obviously love Juddmonte families, I knew the fifth dam, and that is the whole attraction, and my client does, too. The client has been very keen on Juddmone families, and we both agree there. This filly stays in Europe."
Of the price he said: "I did not think we would have to spend so much, but these Juddmonte fillies and mares always have a premium. It is one of the very top Juddmonte families, there is so much happening around it, and just keep staying alive. "
Helloborine had a 2024 filly and a 2025 colt, both are by Kingman.
Barry Mahon, Juddmonte's general manager, Ireland and European racing, said: "She is a beautiful filly with an unbelievable pedigree. Her sisters have all produced good horses and there are plenty more in the pipeline."
Of this year's draft, he added: "We have brought a strong bunch – we got on very well here last year, and had the top two in the sale, so we made a concerted effort to come here with a good bunch of fillies. They have sold very well and we are very happy."
Mahon also updated on Juddmonte's 2025 star performer Field Of Gold.
"I saw Field Of Gold this morning; he looks amazing and we are looking forward to Goodwood," he reported. When asked if he were able to update on jockey plans for the Group 1 Sussex Stakes now that retained jockey Colin Keane has a whip ban and will be unable to ride, he joked: "I have had about 35 phone calls! But is too far out yet to be making plans." (16:05)
Lot 569: Fleeting Ember, the half-sister to Threat, winner of the Gimcrack Stakes (G2) and the Champagne Stakes (G2), is bought from Juddmonte by Tom Goff of Blandford Bloodstock for 300,000gns, who outpointed an online bidder.
The filly's second dam is Shiva, a European champion older, the dam and ancestress of five black-type winners, while the third dam features the Oaks (G1) winner Light Shift, and the champions Ulysses and Cloth Of Stars.
"She’s a lovely filly by Frankel," said Goff. "I saw her down at the bottom and thought she was an absolute smasher. It’s a lovely Niarchos family that’s been added to by Juddmonte. What more could you want? I thought she was very nice. She was going to be a certain value until two bidders went at it."
Goff also purchased Lot 570, Porto Verse (Kingman), for 110,000gns. She is a half-sister to the US Grade 1 winner St Piece, from the family of Elmaamul, Reams Of Verse, Midday and Goff said: "I think she was incredibly good value." (16:00)
Lot 567: "Sapphire Princess has been bought for Becky," said Stephen Hillen, sat in the seats with his wife, adding: "It was her birthday yesterday so this is her present!"
The three-year-old filly is a fine birthday gift– she is a daughter of Kingman out of the Group 3 winner Desert Diamond (Dubawi) from the Juddmonte family of Frankel, and she cost Hillen 110,000gns,
"Hopefully, she can win a bonus, which will help with the price!" added the purchaser. "She has not won a race, but she has been placed in all her three starts for Ger Lyons, and she travels well in her races."
Of training plans, Hillen laughed: "We have no plans, perhaps she can go to whoever is nice to Becky!"
The couple will be hoping that Sapphire Princess could be half as good as another race filly bought here and who ran in Becky's colours – a certain Via Sistina bought by Stephen Hillen Bloodstock at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale for 5,000gns. She went on to become a Group 1 winner of the Pretty Polly Stakes before selling at the December Mares Sale for 2,700,000gns. She has gone on to win eight Group 1 races in Australia for Yulong Investments and trainer Chris Waller. (15:55)
Lot 565: Quadratic, an unraced filly by Dubawi out of the Group 1 Fillies' Mile-winning Frankel mare Quadrilateral, is bought online for 130,000gns.
The filly hails from the Juddmonte family of Three Valleys, Scissor Kick, and the blue hen Hasili, who is dam of the Group 1 winners Banks Hill, Cacique, Champs Elysees, Intercontinental and Heat Haze, and the Group 2 winner and joint champion miler Dansili.
Quadrilateral had a filly foal by Kingman in 2023, a filly by Dubawi in 2024, and a colt by Wootton Bassett this spring. (15:31)
Lot 549: "He will be aimed at the Qatar Derby," said Gassim Ghazali after buying Basalt, a son of Pintabuo, for 220,000gns. "He is a three-year-old now, and his form is good. He could also be a horse for the big races in other countries in the Middle East."
The Qatar Derby is held in December and the colt will travel soon to the Middle East.
Ghazali went on to joke: "He was too expensive! However, the competition is strong now in Qatar and throughout the region, and we have to spend this sort of money."
Basalt, a winner at two, finished fifth last time out in the 15-strong field in the Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot, and collected Listed placed form earlier in the season when third in the Silver Tankard at Pontefract.
He is a half-brother to this season's Group 3 and Group 2 winner Estrange, who has entries in the Nassau Stakes (G1), the Yorkshire Oaks (G1) and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1). By Night Of Thunder, she is owned by Cheveley Park Stud, and was a 425,000gns purchase at the October Book 1 Sale in 2022.
The pair are out of Alienate (Oasis Dream), bred by Juddmonte, and from the family of the St Leger winner Logician, Whitebeam, and Cityscape. (15:16)
Lot 522: Standard Deviation, a bay three-year-old gelding by Invincible Spirit, is sold by Avenue Sales for 90,000gns. He will be travelling from Tattersalls to the southern-hemisphere having been purchased by Chris Waller Racing / Mulcaster Bloodstock.
Timeform rated 88, Standard Deviation has run three times, finishing fourth of 12 on his debut in April at Gowran Park, and then second on his last two runs at Killarney and then Naas beaten just a nose and a half length. He was 11 lengths clear of the field on his last start.
The Racing Post analysis said after his runner-up spot at Killarney: "He's a good prospect, and shouldn't be long in going one better." (14:12)
Lot 501: the progressive Grand Karat is signed for by JS Bloodstock for 200,000gns on behalf of Fawzi Nass.
"He is going to Bahrain for the International Series," said Nass. "There are six or so races over 6f, and they will suit him. I am not sure whose colours he will race in next, but he won't run again in Europe before travelling."
The son of Gleneagles is Timeform rated 102, and the four-year-old gelding was previously trained by Harry Charlton to win three races, with two successes coming over 7f on the All-Weather at Southwell in 2024, with the third race won at the end of June at Windsor over 6f. (13:42)
Lot 487: also bought by an online bid from H J Racing, Dapper Charm, a two-year-old colt by Dandy Man, makes 72,000gns.
The colt has done little wrong in his four starts to date – he finished second on his first three runs over five and a half furlongs, and won last time out at Carlisle over 6f. He has a Timeform rating of 78.
He has been in training with Archie Watson, who bought the colt with Blandford Bloodstock as a yearling for 14,000gns at last September's Somerville Yearling Sale. (13:09)
Lot 485: Scattering Light, who was purchased from the Godolphin draft at the December Mares Sale by Marco Botti / New Approach Bloodstock for 30,000gns as a maiden, proves that money was well-spent when re-sold today for 50,000gns to an online bid from Vladimir Vukojevic.
The daughter of Blue Point has since won twice over 6f, including on her last start last time out in June at Newmarket, and is now Tiemform rated 85.
Her second dam Up won the Blandford Stakes (G2) and was a runner-up in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (G1). Her third dam Halland Park Lass is the dam of Dutch Art, winner of the Middle Park Stakes (G1), the Prix Morny (G1), the Norfolk Stakes (G2) and runner-up in the July Stakes (G1), the Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1) and was third in the 2,000 Guineas (G1). (13:04)
Lot 425: Alan O'Keeffe, assistant trainer to Jennie Candlish, spends 75,000gns on Nepal, a three-year-old son of Camacho, sold by John Joseph Murphy's Highfort Stables
The gelding has run five times and, though yet to win, he has finished in the placings three times, including when a close fourth last time out on June 27 at The Curragh and in a 1m2f maiden. (12:22)
Lot 422: Lone Warrior is bought for 85,000gns and is purchased by George Prince Bloodstock.
The colt, who has run twice, boasts an illustrious half-brother in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Ghostwriter, third in both last year's Juddmonte International and Eclipse Stakes, fourth-placed in the 2,000 Guineas and Prix du Jockey-Club (G1), and recently third in Royal Ascot's Hardwicke Stakes (G2).
The son of Invincible Spirit has a chance of adding to those laurels tomorrow – he is the current favourite for the Princess of Wales's Stakes (G2).
The half-siblings were bred by Norelands Bloodstock out of the Cheshire Oaks (L) runner-up Moorside (Champs Elysees), who was bought at the Tattersalls December Sale 2017 for 90,000gns. She hails from the leading Juddmonte family of Zafonic and Zamindar. (11:50)
Lot 398: the once-raced three-year-old gelding Alnayazek (Dubawi) heads the first Shadwell horse-in-training draft, bought by the Dubai-based trainer Salman Ali Alsabri for €35,000.
He is a grandson of High Heeled (High Chaparral), the Oaks and Coronation Cup third-placed and St Simon Stakes (G3) winner. She is also dam of the German Listed winner Pabouche, who is grand-dam of the 2024 US Grade 1 winner Cindrella's Dream. The Godolphin-owned daughter of Shamardal won the Dahlia Stakes (G2) in May and went on to finish second at Royal Ascot in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (G2).
She runs next in Friday's Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes (G1).
Third dam is Uncharted Haven, grand-dam of the Irish 1,000 Guineas (G1) and E P Taylor Stakes (G1) winner Just The Judge. She also finished second in the 1,000 Guineas and third in the Pretty Polly and Coronation Stakes (G1). (11:34)
Lot 369: "He has been bought to go hurdling," said William Durkan's assistant trainer Gary Bannon after purchasing Touch The Moon for 55,000gns. "He is a good physical, and he looks the type we have success with from here before."
The son of Sea The Stars is BHA rated 90, and the four-year-old is the winner of three races on the level, having won twice in Bahrain earlier this spring over 1m2f.
The team has been busy this morning – also bought the maiden Hopes Are High (Lot 348) by Shaman and rated 75 for 40,000gns. (10:32)
Lot 342: the BHA 75-rated Channagide (Divisidero), a winner last time out on June 23 at Windsor, makes 45,000gns and is bought by JS Bloodstock.
The three-year-old gelding was building on a second placing at Newbury in May having travelled to Dubai and run twice earlier this spring at Meydan. (10:25)

The three-year-old filly has run three times and won at Windsor at the beginning of June for trainer Andrew Balding, the post-race Racing Post analysis reporting that she "rates as a promising filly".
Her dam Most Gifted is a daughter of the Group 3 winner and multiple Group 1-placed mare Gagnoa (Sadler's Wells), and is the dam of the good international miler Ancient Rome and the Group 3 sprinter Etoile. Third dam is dam of seven winners, headlined by the Epsom Derby winner Pour Moi, and the Irish Derby third-placed Dawn Patrol. (18:35)
Lot 289: Jorge Alvares will be seen next on a racecourse in Qatar – the son of Cotai Glory bought by Qatari trainer Gassim Ghazali.
"He is a smart horse and will suit the sprint races we have in Qatar," said Ghazali. "My son tried to buy the horse last year and did not – we have had to pay more now!"
Jorge Alvares was sold at last year's Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale for 38,000gns, bought then by Gaelic Bloodstock. This year, in training with Ger Lyons, the gelding has since run six times, won once and finished placed four times, and last time out was sixth in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes at Royal Ascot. His BHA rating has increased from 82 to 89.
Ghazali added: "I had a very good season last year with 62 winners, and only Hamad Al-Jehani for Wathnan had more. Hopefully, this horse will be a winner – I need plenty of good horses to take on Wathnan!" (18:11)
Lot 275: the unraced Frankel filly Rose Arbour is bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 170,000gns, the top-priced horse from the Godolphin draft.
Anthony Stroud said: "She is for an existing client in Ireland. She is a good-looking mare, is by Frankel, is out of a smart stakes-winning Dubawi mare and is from a lovely family. Frankel is not only a fantastic stallion, but is an outstanding broodmare sire too, as is Dubawi – she has got the genetics to have a very good chance at stud."
Sold by Godolphin, Rose Arbour is out of the Group 3 Prix Chloe winner Crown Walk (Dubawi), who was also placed in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild. She is a half-sister to Cutlass Bay, winner of the Prix Ganay (G1), Boscobel, winner of the King Edward VI Stakes (G2), and Crested, a Listed race winner and graded race performer in the US
In 2023, Crown Walk had a colt by Sea The Stars, and fillies in 2024 and 2025 by Frankel. (17:32)
Lot 270: "She is from a family I know well from my time with Sheikh Mohammed," said Mark McStay of Avenue Bloodstock after spending 110,000gns on the two-year-old filly De Luain, sold by Godolphin.
"Her half-sister Usherette was very good, I think she was rated 117, her sire Lope De Vega has every attribute you need to make a fantastic broodmare sire, she was very well presented by Godolphin, Marie and her team.
"I am very happy to get her, there was some strong competition for her, and she has been bought for an existing client in Ireland."
He added: "It is undecided yet whether she will go bacj into training or not."
The filly is out of the Listed-placed mare Monday Shaw (Maria's Mon) and is a half-sister to the previously mentioned Usherette, to Magnetic Charm, who was a Listed winner and Group 2 placed, and to the Listed winner and Group 3-placed Snow Day. (17:26)
Lot 245: Spring Lantern, by Frankel, is heading back to France, bought by Sumbe with stud manager Tony Fry bidding from the right stairwell. She cost her new connections 150,000gns.
Bred, owned and sold today by Godolphin and in-foal to Pinatubo, she was a winner at three in France for trainer Andre Fabre.
"She looks perfect for Charyn, she will be a lovely mare for him," said Fry of the daughter of the Group 3 winner Rosa Imperial. "She was quick and is strong, and we are pleased to have got her."
Sumbe's young stallion Charyn has just come to the end of his first season at stud, and Fry updated: "He saw 175 mares and has a 92 per cent fertility."
As to whether the Group 1-winning son of Dark Angel took to his new job well, Fry laughed: "He is a tiger!" (16:33)
Lot 243B and Lot 243C: the consecutive wildcard lots proved popular.
Both were offered by James Tate's Jamesfield Stables – the three-time winner Smart Hero (Shamardal), was bought by Qatar-based trainer Gassim Ghazali for 65,000gns, and Ahlain made 85,000gns, purchased by JS Bloodstock / Al Rabba Racing. Under the second dam are the black-type winners Mudaaraah, Sudoor, Ethaara, Raseed, Alfareeq, Shaara and A Lilca Rolla.
The third dam, Wasnah, produced Bahir, the European champion miler of 1995, and Baharem winner of the Champagne Stakes (G2), and runner-up in the Champion Stakes (G1).

"She is a decent mare and Arizona Blaze a smart racehorse who we hope can continue to add to the profil," said Roger O'Callaghan. "We saw her Blackbeard half-brother at the December Foal Sale, and he is a smart sort."
That foal made 190,000gns, bought by Glenvale Stud. (14:55)

It is the family the Australian Group race winner and Group 1 placed Swashbuckling, and further back of the European champion three-year-old and dual Derby winner Harzand.
Trainer Stuart Williams said: “He’s for a new owner to the yard who wanted to have a horse to run at the big tracks. We’ll target some of the big meetings and try to replicate what Andrew’s done with him by winning at places like York. He won well last time and looks a solid horse. He’s one we’d hope would carry on improving with age and in line with what his family has done. I don’t know what he’s done lately, he hasn’t run for three or four weeks, but we’ll get him back to the yard and assess him before settling on a target.”
He added: “Whatever the price is, there’s that many people around the sale and whoever buys the horse is the maddest person on the day because you’re the one who bid the most! That sort of price was what we were expecting to pay, though.” (14:52)
Lot 136: the three-year-old Aviation Time (Sands Of Mali), who boasts black-type placed form in the Windsor Castle Stakes and the Prix Yacowlef, is bought by Kildaragh Stud for 60,000gns.

Lot 128: "She is from a great family, is in-foal to an exciting young stallion, is for an established client in Ireland and comes from a top-class farm" said Cathy Grassick after spending 60,000gns on Triangle D'Or (Intello), consigned by Ballylinch Stud
Sold in-foal to Sioux Nation, Triangle D'Or is an own-sister to the Listed winner Tresorerie, a half-sister to the Group 3-placed King Ottokar and to the Group 1-placed two-year-old Tresorier. (13:27)

He added: "She is for a new client, is coming back to Glanvilles Stud and is from a good German family, which I like."
Nottingham's dam, North Sea, is a daughter of New Approach and was Listed-placed in Germany, while grand-dam North America was a Listed winner in Germany.
Nottingham was sold by Conor Quirke and Kathryn Birch's Hunting Hill Stud, having purchased the mare just last December for €9,000. She was covered on April 4th by the Tally-Ho Stud-based Big Evs, a stallion, of course, known very well to Quirke – he purchased the subsequent Royal Ascot Windsor Castle Stakes (L), Molecomb Stakes (G3), Flying Childers Stakes (G2), Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint (G1) and King George V Stakes (G2) winner as a two-year-old. (13:20)
Lot 102: Tally-Ho Stud spends 37,000gns on Hattal, a three-year-old filly by No Nay Never, who has been placed fourth since the catalogue was published in a maiden over five and a half furlongs at Brighton at the beginning of June on her racecourse debut for trainer Olly Sangster and owner Al Shaqab Racing.

Chinkara is out of Lady Rasha, a Dansili half-sister to the Gimcrack Stakes (G2) winner Ajaya and the Group 3 winner Extra Elusive. Her third dam is the Juddmonte-bred Didina, a Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed and the granddam of stallions Cityscape and Bated Breath. (12:01)

Lot 367: the very last lot in the ring today joins the 100,000gns club - the colt by Violence and sold by MC Thoroughbred fetching the round sum
It is a smart pinhook result for MC Thoroughbreds - the colt bought as a yearling for $20,000. He is out of the Listed-placed mare Zermatt (Tiznow), and a half-brother to five winners. (20:00)
Lot 337: trainer Alan King has enjoyed a cross-code, cross-nation double this evening with a bumper winner at Punchestown (Baron Noir, a Tattersalls Ireland November Sale graduate) and a smart three-year-old 1m2f winner at Chelmsford courtesy of Kurakka, a 110,000gns graduate of the 2024 Craven Sale.
King has enjoyed success in the sale ring today and with Highflyer Bloodstock signs for a third purchase – this colt by Coulsty and out of the Cadeaux Genereux mare Star Studded, a half-sister to two black-type placed runners, costing 85,000gns. The colt, who was a vendor buyback as a yearling, was sold by Ian McCarthy's Grangecoor Farm. (19:28)
Lot 322: Knockgraffon Stables Stephen Byrne's great day concludes with an 80,000gns sale of its Saxon Warrior filly to Guillermo Arizkorreta. The April-born filly, out of the Invincible Spirit mare Saucy Spirit, was a €17,000 yearling purchase last autumn.
Knckgraffon is currently the day's leading consignor by aggregate with four horses sold for a total of 362,000gns, and is the third best by average (for two or more horses sold) at 90,500gns. (18:54)
Lot 294: the sole lot offered at today's sale by the Gestut Etzean-based sire Japan is sold by Tradewinds Stud to KGS for 110,000gns
Named Protagonist is out of the winning mare Passcode (Camacho), a half-sister the German juvenile champion Pomellato, and winner of the Criterium Maisons-Laffitte (G2).
The colt was a €32,000 purchase in Germany. (18:15)
Lot 291: the brothers Ilson and Anderson Correa of Anderson get a fantastic return with this filly by Coulsty – bought as a yearling for just €3,000, she was sold today for 115,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
Although the siblings have been selling breeze-up horses for just two years, this is already the team's second six-figure sale – at last year's Guineas Breeze Up they produced a King Of Change colt who was bought for 120,000gns.
"She is a nice filly, she walks well, she has a lovely outlook and head, and we are very happy," said Anderson Correa, who was originally from Brazil but is now based in Ireland at Mullingar where the pair also pre-train a few for trainers.
Of today's profits, it is going back into the business and will be financing more stock purchases as Correa reports "We will be reinvesting – each year we try and improve!' (18:01)
Lot 289: the Mehmas colt sold by Gary Halpin and Sean Davies's GS Bloodstock makes 145,000gns, bought via an online bid by Omar Esmil Ghrghar / Global Equine.
It was a first visit to a sale ring for the colt and Davies reported: "He was bred by Noel O'Callaghan of Mountarmstrong Stud, and he has been a massive supporter of us. We are delighted that the colt has rewarded his breeder, he has been a brilliant horse to do all winter; he clocked a good time and did a very good breeze – but he has been doing that all winter.
"We are excited about him and I really hope he goes on and is lucky for his purchaser – I think they have bought a very nice horse. "
He added: "The Mehmas horses have great minds, they are professional and are athletes. He has been so easy to do since he got here – made our job easy!
And concluding, Davies said: "We have sold six so far this spring and have another 15 to go. I can't thank his breeder enough for sending such a nice horse our way." (17:50)
Lot 266: another by Havana Grey makes six figures – this colt, a first foal out of the unraced Zoffany mare Mandaza, is bought by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock / Aguiar Bloodstock for 125,000gns from Lackendarra Stables. It was a successful pinhook for Eddie Linehan's farm, the colt a £40,000 yearling purchase last year.
After Ross Doyle signed the docket, he said: "He is a lovely horse, and he reminded us a lot of Shouldvebeenaring [Group 3 winner, Group 1 placed]. This lad is a bit bigger height-wise, but he has the same attitude, the same movement. He comes from a very good home, and the sire needs no introduction. I showed Richard six or seven, and this was Richard's pick."
Of his breeze-up purchases this season, he said: "We have bought five or six horses this spring, but it has been difficult to get in."
The colt's second dam Mandesha (Elusive Quality) was a French champion older mare in 2007 and a champion three-year-old. She won the Prix Vermeille (G1), the Prix de l'Opera and the Prix d'Astarte (G1). She is dam of five winners including the Listed winner and Group 1 placed Mandour. (17:15)
