Lot 418: Carron, sold by Faringdon Place Stables (C. Hills), is bought by Hurworth Bloodstock for 65,000gns.
The three-year-old colt won in July, off a mark of 74, and again last time out in September when he won over a mile at Lingfield and off a handicap rating of 79.
By Invincible Spirit, Carron is out of Waikuku Beach (Most Improved), a half-sister to the Listed-placed Aunt Julia, who is dam of the Group 3-placed Al Waab (10:33)

Lot 338: Jagged Edge (Blue Point) sells for 125,000gns consigned by The Castlebridge Consignment.
Trained by Dermot Weld for Newtown Anner Stud Farm Ltd, Jagged Edge won the Irish Cambridgeshire in August off a rating of 90. He was bought today by Stephen Thorne Racing / Shamrock Thoroughbreds. (19:24)
Lot 319C: the two-year-old August George turns his yearling purchase price of €90,000 into an Autumn HIT Sale valuation of 375,000gns. This summer's racecourse results have seen the Night Of Thunder colt, who has been trained by Ivan Furtado, finish second on debut, win his maiden and then finish a length and a quarter second to Dorset, subsequent winner of the Killavullan Stakes (G3).
"That is a great result here and a good price, and I wish the best of luck to the new connections," said Furtado, who trains at Easingwold in North Yorkshire. "I hope he will carry on and progress, it is nice to get some money and it will go towards the next horses."
Finbar Kent purchased August George as a yearling from breeder Roundhill Stud. He also consigned the colt today and said: "It is a brilliant result, and great for owners Stephen and Wendy Burdett, who also own Ivan's yard. They put a lot into the game and buy ten to 15 yearlings every year and it is nice to get one who gets a result on the track and then get a return today – it keeps all the wheels turning."
Recalling buying the colt, he added: "I had a long list of horses, we viewed lots, were looking for one to fall through and one we could afford. We took a chance on this lad and thank god it has worked out. He has a pedigree to die for, he is by Night Of Thunder and is a first foal out of a well-rated Siyouni mare. It was not always the plan to sell him, but when one becomes worth a bit, then it becomes very hard not to take the money."
Qatari trainer Gassim Ghazali was the successful buyer and he said: "Hopefully, this horse will go for the big two-year-old race on Qatar Derby day and then run on HH The Amir Sword day in February. What we really like is that he is by Night Of Thunder."
Ghazali has already enjoyed success in the new 2025-26 Qatar season with this year's Tattersalls purchases: "We have already started racing for the new season – we bought Basalt at the July Sale [Lot 549, 220,000gns] and he won on his first start in Qatar on October 23. He looks a very exciting prospect." (19:00)
Lot 300: the three-year-old Mount Kilimanjaro, who has run in this season's British Champion Stakes (G1), the Irish Champion Stakes (G1), the Great Voltigeur Stakes (G2) and won May's Listed Dee Stakes, is bought by Edgar Byrne for the Scandinavian champion trainer Niels Petersen and owner Wibecke Nagell-Erichsen.
"He will go from here to Dubai for the winter and will run there for the team," said Petersen, who was accompanied by the owner, adding: "He will go then to Scandinavia for the best races, I hope he will be a head above the rest.
"He is a nicely balanced horse, he is a galloping horse and they tend to race a little differently in Scandinavia than they do here. He has plenty of ability, that will take him a long way in Scandinavia. He is a striking-looking horse and the minute Wilbecke saw him she loved him."
The best result so far for the son of Siyouni, who has been in training with Aidan O'Brien for the Coolmore team, was a second place finish in the 2024 Criterium International a length and a quarter behind Twain. (18:06)
Lot 280: another from the Shadwell draft catches the buyers' eyes..... Munsif, by Sea The Stars, is bought 120,000gns by Charles Byrnes.
Timeform rated 102, the three-year-old gelding has run six times and won three races for Roger Varian. He won a 0-90 handicap at Doncaster in September, and finished in mid-division in the Old Rowley Cup Handicap at Newmarket in October.
Bred by Shadwell, the gelding is out of the Raven's Pass mare Mubhirah, a half-sister to Taghrooda, the 2014 European champion three-year-old, winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) and the Epsom Oaks (G1). (17:29)
Lot 214: Sarab Star was consigned by West Ilsley Stables and is returning to his stable tonight under new ownership – the son of Zoustar sold by Jaber Abdullah, and bought at 200,000gns by trainer Jack Channon for a partnership in the yard.
"Jaber has bought a lot of new horses this year and he wanted to monetise some of his more valuable stock which this horse was one of them, but I think he is too good to let go, there are very few very talented horses who come through my hands, I was not leaving without him. He will be syndicated for some existing owners in the yard, he is a very talented horse, he is coming back to West Ilsley," said Channon.
Of plans, he outlined: "He is fit, ready to run and he needs a bit more experience – we will look to run him a couple of times on the All-Weather then leave him for the Turf next spring."
Sarab Star, who cost 42,000gns in the 2023 October Book 2 Sale, was a winner on debut as a juvenile, and ran in the Mill Reef Stakes (G2) when sixth of sixth behind Powerful Glory, subsequent winner of this year's British Champions Sprint Stakes (G1). He won last time out over 7f at Kempton in August. (15:50)
Lot 188: the first over 300,000gns today is Mukhtalif, by Sea The Stars and out of the Siyouni mare Maqsad, and sold for 325,000gns to Ciaron Maher Racing / JS Bloodstock.
The Shadwell Stud homebred three-year-old gelding, he has yet to finish out of the first three places in five starts, and is a winner of his last two outings, successful off a BHA rating of 81, which has now been improved to 89. He has been in training with William Haggas.
Buyer Will Bourne said: "He’s progressive and, having inspected the horse, you can see he’s a beautiful animal. We really like the fact that the stallion works in Australia. David Hayes had the Australian Cup winner Fifty Stars and Johnny McKeever bought the Metropolitan winner Just Fine out of this sale, and they’re both by Sea The Stars, too. This horse is a progressive stayer so he profiles perfectly for us and we’re happy to be taking him down there.”
Discussing the enduring appeal of European horses, he added: When you look at Ciaron’s results in the last two months, Royal Supremacy won a Metropolitan and our runners in the Melbourne Cup this week are from Europe, so we’ve just got to keep sourcing these horses out of here.
"We have a number that we try to hit, but buying this year has been very hard. We’re probably ten horses down on where we’d like to be, that’s privately and through the sale ring. It’s been extremely difficult to buy the horses that you want at the right price, which hasn’t been helped by the Australian dollar. All these marginal factors, and more competition on tried horses, means it’s been really hard. That can affect our bloodstock portfolio so we’re keen to get a few here.” (14:59)
Lot 187: HH Sheikh Sultan Aldeen MS Al-Khalifa spends 110,000gns on Mawood, a three-year-old gelding by Mohaather from the Shadwell draft.
In training with Harry Eustace, and Timeform rated 92, Mawood was a winner at Redcar in September over 1m2f and then again at the beginning of October at Nottingham and over the same trip. (14:27)
Lot 166: a first purchase at this year's sale for regular Tattersalls visitor Guy Mulcaster, the agent spending 200,000gns on Hard Evidence for Chris Waller Racing.
The two-year-old Zarak colt was sold by Imperium Sales for Valmont, and was a winner last time out for trainer Ed Walker when successful over a mile seven days ago at Bath.
"He was impressive when he won and the second horse had been second before and the third horse had been third before too, so the form is pretty strong," said Mulcaster. "He paraded really well, he looked beautiful in the back parade ring, and we think he has got a lot more to come – he looks like he wants to be three and he wants to be four, so we will take him along quietly and see where we end up – he is a beautiful horse.
"They are better horses [progeny by Zarak] with a bit of time, he was a €90,000 yearling, they have put him through training and they have got a little bit more here – so everyone is happy!" (14:18)
Lot 117: bidding opened at 100,000gns, but Zain Blue, from Johnny Butler's Charnwood Stables, was bought on one bid by Will Bourne at 150,000gns.
Bourne was standing alongside Billy Jackson-Stops, and he said: "He is going to Australia and Ciaran Mahler Racing. Johnny Butler has been touting him and saying that he is a very nice horse. We like this horse's profile, his form is very good, he will probably go to Sydney where there is a bit of cut in the ground, which Johnny says is a preferred surface. We think he could work, and might be a bit of value.:
He added: "He has not been heavily raced and he looks as though he will suit the 1m2f Sydney races."
Zain Blue by Blue Point won last time out at York in September over 1m2f off 81. (13:08)
Lot 93: Appeared, who is Timeform rated 90p and was consigned by Coolmore, is bought by Darby Racing / De Burgh Equine for 120,000gns.
The three-year-old son of Justify, out of Living The Life (Footstepsinthesand), a three-time Graded stakes winner in the US, won a 1m4f maiden at The Curragh on October 16. (12:07)
Lot 82: Synners Kid, winner of a mile nursery at Bellewstown at the beginning of October off a mark of 74, is bought by Sam Haggas, signing as Hurworth Bloodstock / Henry Dwyer Racing, for 110,000gns.
The colt by Ten Sovereigns, sold by Baroda Stud, is heading to Australia, and Haggas said: "He is bought for Henry Dwyer, we bought a couple last year and they have gone on ok, Cote Atlantique won a Listed last time out, and Henry was keen to go again, but he could not come up this time.
"I don't know yet whether this horse will ship immediately or will stay into the summer, there is a chance as there is some nice meetings a horse like this could run in – we could see if he could qualify for the Britannia or the Golden Gates, whatever route he will be in Australia in the long term."
Of the horse's profile, he added: "I was very impressed with him last time, he showed a great turn of foot, it might have been a smallish nursery at a smallish track but he bolted up, the style in which he did it suggests there could be plenty more to come and lots of improvement with some better ground. He is a progressive horse with a turn of foot. " (11:37)
Lot 38: the regular Tattersalls buyer The Horse Watchers go to 36,000gns for Bluecoltrane, a three-year-old gelding by Sea The Moon and consigned by Owen Burrows Racing.
Bluecoltrane has run four times and was third last time out at Doncaster in a 1m2f handicap off a mark of 71. (10:43)

Chairman's statement ‎ “The three books of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales represent arguably the most important fortnight in the European bloodstock calendar as the thoroughbred world descends on Newmarket, the hub of European horse racing.
"Over the last two weeks we have seen turnover surpass 200 million guineas for the third time in four years, the two highest-priced yearlings sold anywhere in the world this year, 16 lots sell for 1 million guineas or more and sustained demand for quality yearlings from all corners of the globe.
“The Tattersalls October Yearling Sale consistently attracts the largest share of the best European yearlings to come to market each year, and Books 1 and 2 have seen a remarkable 189 yearlings realise 300,000 guineas or more, 77 per cent of the yearlings to realise that figure at public auction in Europe this year.
"Tribute must be paid to the breeders and consignors from Britain, Ireland and further afield who entrust their best yearlings to Tattersalls, safe in the knowledge that the global racecourse success of those yearlings continues to attract the world’s leading buyers year after year.
“We have welcomed large numbers of international visitors to Newmarket throughout Books 1 to 3 with significant numbers of American purchasers joined by buyers from throughout the Gulf region including Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. They have been joined by purchasers from Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan and Spain alongside a strong domestic buying bench.
"Those buyers include many principals, whose continued support is such a feature of sales at Tattersalls, attracted by the numerous racecourse successes of graduates including recent Group 1 winners GEWAN, OMBUDSMAN, VENETIAN SUN, WISE APPROACH and 35,000 guineas purchase ZAVATERI.
“The demand for quality yearlings, especially from overseas buyers, reflects the esteem in which British and Irish thoroughbreds are held globally.
"However, this success is under continual threat by headwinds including the spectre of increased betting taxes, which could cost the industry millions, the fragility of the rural economy due to increased costs and taxes, and the failure of governments to recognise the value of an industry that can legitimately be regarded as a world leader.
"These challenges undermine a true British success story and threaten livelihoods.” (23:45)

"He is the pick of the day, a lovely colt and think he was value at that," said Wanless by the sale ring.
The colt is out of Sorella D'Angelo (Dark Angel), the dam of one winner from one runner and a daughter of Silca's Sister, winner of the Prix Morny (G1).
Sorella D'Angelo was bought here at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale 20202 for 12,000gns. (16:44)
Lot 1863: trainer Eoghan J O'Neill spends 20,000gns on this filly by Dream Ahead, sold by Bearstone Stud.
Dam Seacullison (Fountain Of Youth) is out of On The Brink, winner of the Hilary Needler Trophy (L).

Consigned by The National Stud, she was bred by Mr & Mrs Middlebrook, she is a half-sister to seven winners, four of whom have been rated over 80.
"She is a lovely big strong filly," said Gary Middlebrook. "We bought Rimth here in 2022; we wanted to get back into the family as we bred from the third dam Dominio."
Rimth is in-foal to Space Blues. (15:45)
Lot 1831: the Cracksman grandson of the Group 3 winner Purr Along (Mount Nelson) is bought by Andrew Oliver for 26,000gns.
The March-born colt is the second foal out of the Dubawi mare Perfect Match who was placed as a juvenile and is a half-sister to Starcat, third-placed in The Crown Prince Cup (L) in Saudi Arabia (14:59)
Lot 1787: another by the first-crop National Stud-based sire Stradivarius catches the eye of the buying bench – this filly makes 40,000gns, and is bought by Jamie Osborne Bloodstock and is for sale.
"She is a beautiful filly, the dam has had three rated over 100, has had six winners and ha not missed, has a lovely page," said Osborne. "This wouldn't be the normal type of stallion that I'd buy, but she is a beautiful model, very athletic and the dam did win at two. Let's see!"
Lombatina is by King's Best and her leading progeny is Agrotera, a filly by Mastercraftsman and winner of the Snowdrop Stakes (L).
She is out of Sahel, an own-sister to Schiaparelli, Samum and Salve Regina, from the family of the multiple Group 1 winner Sosie, third-placed in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at the beginning of the month. (13:56)
Lot 1712: out of the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes winner and 1,000 Guineas third Daban (Acclamation), this colt by Ardad is bought by Lillingston Bloodstock / Rix Racing for 26,000gns.
Bred by Daban Bloodstock Ltd, the colt, a half-brother to a winner rated 81, was a pinhook purchase by BBA Ireland here last December for 11,000gns.
"She is for my best friend Ollie Rix, who is setting up training in Newmarket," said Dee, the pair at university together. "He is doing his last module this week, but we looked at this filly together this morning and both liked her.
"She is out of a Guineas-placed mare and Nell Gwyn winner, who has had two rated in the 80s and by more staying stallions.
This filly has loads of quality, is really racy, and we both like the stallion - Ardad has a bit more speed than the stallions she has seen and think that is interesting.
"We are just trying to buy horses who might be early for Ollie." (12:12)
Lot 1716: Kings Bloodstock spends 25,000gns on the Masar colt out of Deveron (Cozzene), consigned by Houghton Bloodstock.
The May-born coly is a half-brother to 11 winners, including Lamar, a six-time winner, successful at Listed level, and placed ten times, six times in Listed races, the nine-time winner Haddaf, winner of the Scurry Stakes (L), and placed 22 times, and the Aphrodite Stakes (L) runner-up Cloudbreaker. (11:24)
Lot 1682: "She is the one we really wanted today," said Francisco Bernal of Outsider Bloodstock after buying this filly by Palace Pier on behalf of his Spanish cllient and owner Jose Maria Maldonado, who races his under the Cuadro Meditteraneo banner.
"She has a good family, and we are looking for a middle-distance prospect. Palace Pier has done well," he said. "This filly will be pre-trained in ireland and then will ship to Spain in January."
The majority of Maldonado's horses are in training in Spain, but he also has horses in training in France with Mauricio Delcher Sanchez.
Bernal chatted to sales day live at the Tattersalls Ireland September Sale after he purchased a daughter of King Of Change for Maldonado, the pair have purchased seven yearlings between here and Fairyhouse.
"Of course, Brexit has an influence, but we were looking to add to the draft with a more middle-distance pedigree, and most of our Irish purchases were more sprint types." (10:53)

Lot 1665: The best came today with the very last lot in the ring, this Blue Point colt from leading consignor and stud farm Ballyhimikin Stud makes 165,000gns. He was bred by the farm in association with Skymarc Farm, who bred the mare.
He is out of the Verglas mare Wrong Answer, the winner of two races, including at the Marble Hill Stakes (L). She is dam of seven winners, headed by the Oak Tree Stakes (G3) second Internationalangel.
The mare's juvenile Harlequin Angel (Space Blues) won in August after catalogue publication.
He was bought by MADR Bloodstock.
"He has been bought to go breezing, hopefully we will get him into one of the better sale," said purchaser Rodrigo Goncalves. "He is a lovely big strong horse and is by a sire I like very much.
"Myself and a couple of friends have gathered up a little syndicate to breeze a couple of horses, he was my pick of the day, I left it late to strike but I am happy to get him.
"I had to give it a push, but when you like a horse of that calibre, you have to stretch out a bit more. I am delighted, hopefully in a couple of months' we will be lucky."
He added: "Ballyhimikin produces the best of the best, they seem to do no wrong, the farm's horses do it on the track, too, so am very exited to see what happens." (21:04)
Lot 1643: a chestnut son of Stradivarius makes 62,000gns, the colt bought by JS Bloodstock / Andrew Balding from The National Stud.
The colt is out of Ten Thousand Stars (Toronado), the winner of one race as a two-year-old. The colt was bought as a pinhooked foal by Weston Farm for 25,000gns here last December.
Anna Kerr, The National Stud's CEO, said: "We are delighted with how the market has received Stradivarius's first yearlings. What has been really interesting and positive, is that when one comes up to the ring, trainers are coming in, too, and that is what we want to see.
"I think trainers can see Stradivarius in the yearlings, they have so much quality and they can all move.
"They are all going to good yards – John Gosden has bought one, Joseph O'Brien has got two, another is going to Charlie Johnson, they are going to yards where they will get the best of chances."
She laughed: "We are looking forward to paying out his bonuses!"
The stallion has had six yearlings sell at the October Sale, for a turnover of 426,000gns, and an average price of 71,000gns.
The top price of 100,000gns was given by Stroud Coleman in Book 1 for a colt consigned by Ringfort Stud out of Misscall (Lot 271). (20:25)
Lot 1622: the Blue Point filly from Ballyhimikin Stud is bought by Julie Camacho for 110,000gns, one of eight yearlings bought by the team at this year's October Yearling Sale.
The filly is out of a winning Oasis Dream mare Song Maker and spokesperson, Matt Camacho, who was bidding from the back stairs, explained the filly's appeal and plans for the future.
"She has been bought for Julie who has been going very well, the ownership undecided, she has probably been bought for a new partnership.
"She walks well, her mother has had two runners who won on debut and she is two from two, and both have looked above average.
"This filly will be treated like a good horse. She is a Blue Point filly on an Oasis Dream cross and from a great breeder. Clearly we would have liked to have paid less, we wanted to take her home, and it is nice to get one from Ballyhimikin. It has been hard to buy."
Second dam Please Sing was a leading two-year-old, winner of the Cherry Hinton Stakes (G2) and a runner-up in the Dick Hern Fillies' Stakes (L). (19:52)
Lot 1598: the only colt catalogued in Book 3 by Aclaim makes 35,000gns, and is purchased by the Sarkar Family, bred and sold by Bearstone Stud.
He is out of River Song (Siphon), a black-type performer in the US, and dam of five winners, including Queen Jo Jo, winner of the Summer Stakes (G3).
The pedigree has enjoyed a recent update under the first dam – Romany Gypsy, a daughter of River Song, already dam of a Listed winner, is also now dam of Isle of Fernandez (Lope Y Fernandez (IRE)).
She finished third in Firth of Clyde Stakes (G3) and fourth in the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy (L).
It is the family of thr Queen Anne Stakes (G2) winner Allied Forces, who was also placed third in the Sussex Stakes (G1). (18:58)
Lot 1571: the Sioux Nation filly out of the Pivotal mare Porthilly, a four-time winner, whose victories include a Listed race in Germany, is sold for 98,000gns.
She was bred by Mr Oliver Pawle, sold by Baroda, and is a grand-daughter of Racine (Titus Livius), the winner of six races in Germany, twice in Group 3 sprint races. She was also placed ten times, four times at Group race level.
She was bought by Glending Stables, breeze-up consignor of subsequent dual Group 1 winner Vandeek (Havana Grey) at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale 2023. (17:29)
Lot 1535: the Nathaniel filly out of Nancy O (Pivotal) is bought by Alex Elliott for 150,000gns from Jamie Railton, who was selling on behalf of Drumroy.
Nancy O was a winner at three in Canada and placed in the third in the Natalma Stakes (G2) and is dam of Zechariah, winner of the Geoffrey Freer Stakes (G3), runner-up in the Queen;'s Vase (G2) and placed at Listed level.
Second dam is Arraville (Arch), who won the Del Mar Oaks (G1), the E P Taylor Stakes (G1) and the Natalma Stakes (G3).
“She had a place in Book 2, but the owner was keen to stand out here and he was right," said Railton, adding: "She is a lovely filly. It is nice to be involved with this type of horse. I think it’s been fantastic to see the appetite, lovely to see it follow on to Book 3. It’s important that we have buyers at every level, not just at the top, the pyramid only works if there’s a solid base to it.”
Elliott said: "I have half bought her on spec, I am putting a partnership together and a few people have already spoken to me, and someone stopped me in the chute to see if I had sold her, so it is all kinda fluid at the moment, she is gorgeous and a good one to get.
"I have had some luck with Nathaniel fillies, obviously You Got To Me. This is very strong, she is out of a Pivotal mare, who is a great broodmare sire, and is a sister to a Group 3 winner.
"Even if she only gets a little bit of black-type, she will be worth a lot of money – her march around the back was very special and I am very pleased to have her."
Of the market at this year's October Yearling Sale, he said: "I have found it easier than last year, there wasn't the mania of last year, Kia is obviously very strong and buying a lot of horses, and because it is not so manic Anthony sees more value in the market and is prepared to step in ant that stage, looking to trade and buy at the right price.
"It has been good for me, I have bought a lot of yearlings; between Amo and other clients, I have bought around 50 over the two weeks." (16:28)
Lot 1497: the Pinatubo January-born filly out of the seven-time winner and US Listed-placed Lady Oak (Arcano) is added to the Richard Hughes purchases, the filly bought for 52,000gns.
Hughes has bought five yearlings through this year's October Yearling Sale, one in Book 1 (Lot 376), three in Book 2 (Lot 869, Lot 776, Lot 738) and today's Book 3 purchase. (16:20)
Lot 1487: by the late sire Calyx, this colt is bought by trainer Sean Quinn with agent Richard Knight from Lynn Lodge Stud for 65,000gns.
The colt first foal out of the Australia mare Kinrarra, a daughter of the Listed winner and Group 3-placed Miss Laher (Clodovil) , a half-sister to Lady Lahar (Fraam), winner of two Group 3 races and Group 2 placed. She is dam of the Group 1-placed Jallota. (15:02)
Lot 1473: another by Havana Grey makes six figures – this filly bought by Yeomanstown Stud as a breeze-up prospect for 130,000gns.
“Hopefully she’ll come back here in April for the Craven," said Roger O'Callaghan. "She is a lovely filly with great quality and a great mover.
"We looked at a handful of horses today – her and the other Havana Grey from Whitsbury who made 160,000gns were the two picks.
"We tried hard on him and thankfully we were able to get this one. Fingers crossed she’ll be fast, the brother was fast – he won the Palace Of Holyrood at Royal Ascot. It’s a good fast family going back."
Ed Harper of Whitsbury Manor said: "We make sure we put Book 2 horses in Book 3, we are not trying to do anything clever, we are just ensuring we spread out the stallions and Havana Grey is very hot.
"We can't sell them all in Book 2, and if we get a reputation for selling good yearlings in Book 3, people are going to stay for Book 3. Not only are we helping ourselves and our stallions, but we are helping British breeders, because it is sale with a higher percentage of British breeders – we need to give the best buyers a staying for Book 3 and they are, it is working and it is great.
"I don't whether it is fluke or happenstance, but Havana Grey over a Sakhee's Secret mare is an amazing cross – there is five of runners rated over 100 from only about eight runners, as well as four stakes winners.
"The colt was impressive for his age [April 28th], and the filly was born the day after.
"She is a full-sister to Pilgrim, a Royal Ascot winner who won the Palace Of Holyrood for David Baron. She is lovely, was a late foal, there will bags of improvement, which I think people spotted – I think when you bring a full-sister to a Royal Ascot winner to Book 3, people are going to have a look.
"Both mares we raced with Hot To Trot, Hot Secret was the first filly we had with them, she won a couple of races for Andrew Balding. It is great to lease them to the group, win with them, then they come back to the broodmare band, everyone is a winner."
Of the stallion, he said: "Havana Grey is phenomenal, and both those two had amazing sales temperaments, I always get nervous when you have a busy horse before it goes into the ring, but they were pulled out however many times, and they did not bat an eye.
"The Havana Greys seem to thrive on hard work whether it is at a sale, at a breeze-up, or in training. When they first get to a sale, and the first half day they are not doing anything, is the day they don't like, then come the day of showing they thrive." (14:19)
Lot 1452: the first offered in Book 3 by the Flying Childers Stakes (G2) winner Caturra makes 50,000gns, bought by Sean Grassick Bloodstock.
The colt, pinhooked by Glencoole Stud for 28,000gns and sold today by Rathbarry Stud, is out of the Listed Radley Stakes placed Fourth Way (Iffraaj) (13:33)
Lot 1436: New Approach Bloodstock goes to 65,000gns for the Palace Pier colt, the second foal out of the Night Of Thunder mare Far Hope, the winner of two races as a three-year-old.
She is daughter of Masarah (Cape Cross), the winner of two races at two and three, and third in the Listed Fleur De Lys Stakes (L).
The colt was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, and sold by Barton Stud.
Palace Pier is the sire of eight winners, headlined by the Lowther Stakes (G2) winner Royal Fixation, who is out of a Kodiac mare, and his Group 3 winner A Bit Of Spirit, winner of the Solario Stakes and out of a mare by Dubawi. (12:41)
Lot 1402: "He has been bought in partnership between Amo Racing / Valmont," said Alex Elliott after bidding 160,000gns on this colt by Havana Grey and out of Cross My Heart (Sakhee's Secret).
"I thought he is the nicest horse here today, he goes to David Simcock, who trained Dream Ahead to sprint honours. Hopefully the colt will be a bit of fun for everyone – Valmont won the Book 3 sales race this year with Jel Pepper, this lad might do the same.
"David begged us for a faster horse, we always like to send him the slower one and he says he slows them down enough! Listen, he trained Dream Ahead who was a top sprinter so he can do the job if the horse is good enough. I bought a sibling before, he was quite talented and Havana Grey is Havana Grey."
Of buying for Valmont and Amo Racing, Elliott outlined: "We bought a couple together, generally they fall into different brackets, which is useful for me. Anthony buys a slower-maturing, later developing type, more backward horse in the trading bracket, and Kia, even though he is trying to buy more Classic types, it is a level above in terms of the price brackets. Luckily, they are good friends, they get on very well, so that makes it easier for me."
The colt, bred and sold by Whitsbury Manor Stud, is a half-sister to Adaay To Remember, runner-up in the Summer Stakes (G3) at York ad third in the Listed Boadicea Stakes.
Dam is a half-sister to Stepper Point, the winner of 10 races, including the Sapphire Stakes (G2) and the Flying Five Stakes (G3). (11:51)
Lot 1396: from Norelands, the first of a draft of five in Book 3, this colt by Blue Point is bought by Alex Elliott and A C Elliott, Agent / JS Bloodstock for 110,000gns.
He is the second foal out of Coeur d'Amour, who was a runner-up in the Silken Glider Stakes, and is a half-sister to the dam of Oscula, a multiple Group 3 winner.
"He has been bought in partnership with Billy Jackson-Stops for Valmont and Michael Blencowe to go to Harry Charlton. We have bought five yearlings this year– one for George Scott, one for Andrew Balding, one for Ralph Beckett, one for Richard Hannon, and now one for Harry Charlton.
"It is a partnership we started a couple of years ago, the first horse bought was Westacre, and we have a nice filly called Forty years On, both with Scott, and we won a Listed race with a Kingman filly called Breckenbrough, she is two for two with Mario Baratti in France. We bought her in the Guineas Sale.
"It is a fun thing with some trainers who are friends. The idea is to own horses are enjoyment, but you always want to buy horses who have a bit of f juice to trade, you have to look at that angle, that is what we always do. Good horses first and then if they are good you can trade." (11:45)
Lot 1386: Anthony Stroud is still at Park Paddocks and goes to 100,000gns for this Starspangledbanner colt, a €27,000 pinhook for the Donworth family of Torard House Stud.
"I have bought him for Alison Swinburn, and we have been looking for a horse for her from last week, and delighted to get this colt," said Stroud. "I have bought from the Donworths before and they have done well, it was a clever pinhook by them, and they are very nice people.
"I think he is a bit of a standout for me today, he has got size and scope and is a very good mover.
"Alison still has Audarya, and has a Dubawi in training, and she is in-foal to Night Of Thunder. Alison is a lovely owner and person, and I am lucky to buy horses for her, she is a wonderful person."
Breda Donworth, speaking for the Donworth family, said: "We are over the moon, we knew we had a nice horse, but when it happens it is amazing. We have seven Flat yearlings, the horses go out for two hours everyday. This lad was a quiet, genuine horse, he took everything so well. It is a lovely return." (11:42)
Lot 1356: Jeremy Brummitt goes to 90,000gns for the Study Of Man colt from Staffordstown. The March-born foal is out of the six-time winner Altra Vita, an Animal Kingdom grand-daughter of Allouette.
"He is an exceptionally well-balanced horse, which I don't think is typical of many horses, but is typical of very good horses," said Brummitt. "He is by a stallion who is probably still emerging and I don't think I could find a horse as well-balanced as this horse is.
"The dam was obviously tough and most important, this colt has been bred by someone who tries to breed racehorses for the racecourse and not sales horse for the sale ring – you can see that by looking at the pedigree and how many winners are in it.
"Altra Vita was rated in the 80s, but she won those six races on firm ground and heavy ground, and I am reliably informed by her handler that she was trained by a master [Sir Mark Prescott]
"You have to pay for a horse you like, it is no use buying one you don't like – it is a long time when you buy a horse you don't like.
"He is for Vantum Leap and we have not yet decided on a trainer; if they have got any sense they will be queuing up to see if they can train him – put that in!" (10:11)
