Lot 1068 and Lot 1069: are both bought by Najd Stud / Archdale Bloodstock from Juddmonte for 260,000gns and 380,000gns.
"They are both lovely horses," said Saud Al Qahtani. "It was more than we expected to pay, but when you buy quality you have to stretch. They have both been bought with the Kings Cup in mind – they have good form, are nice physicals and from great families."
Task Force (Lot 1068) recently finished third to Prague in the Joel Stakes (G3) having finished seventh in the 2,000 Guineas (G1) and second in the Middle Park (G1) to Vandeek as a juvenile.
He is out of the champion two-year-old filly Special Duty, winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) as a juvenile and the 1,000 Guineas (G1) and the Poule d’Essai des Poulliches (G1) at three. It is the family of Expert Eye.
Amphius, a son of Kingman, was in training with Harry Charlton and was a last time out second in a 0-90 handicap off a mark of 91. He is an own-brother to the Group 3 winner Sangarius and to the dam of the Group 1 winner Belbek. His second dam is the dual champion Banks Hill, an own-sister to Dansili, Champs Elysees, Cacique and Intercontinental.
Underbidder on Amphius and coming in with some late bids was Sean Graham, racing manager to Tony Bloom.
Najd Stud has bought 13 horses here this week so far. (17:50)
Lot 1061: the Nathaniel gelding Pappano is bought by Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins for 200,000gns. The gelding was sold by The Castlebridge Consignment.
The Rachel Hood-bred and owned gelding is a progressive sort and after winning a 0-90 1m6f handicap at Southwell in September, he has gone on to finish third in the Listed Murless Stakes over the same trip. The three-year-old is now on a career-high BHA mark of 96 and is Timeform rated 102.
"He came highly recommended by the Gosdens," said Kirk, adding: "I have been very lucky buying from the yard before. I have not bought from the stable for a couple of years, but whenever one is recommended I take note and consider seriously.
"This is a progressive sort, he will be a lovely four-year-old – he is a bit immature mentally and was not gelded until July and it all happened a bit quick for him after. Willie has not had that many by Nathaniel but those he has had have been good – Concertista being one. The options are open for this horse over hurdles and on the Flat." (17:45)
Lot 1037: Mortlake, by Churchill and formerly trained by Ralph Beckett for Quantum Leap Racing Xv & Partner I, is bought by Bjorn Baker / Barry Lynch / Clarke Bloodstock for 120,000gns.

The most recent success was in July when, despite winning by just a length and a quarter, the post-race report records that he was a "comfortable" winner. (16:18)
Lot 982: "I am collecting them now!" laughed Harold Kirk who has just doubled the number of horses by dual-purpose sire Golden Horn that he has purchased, adding Poniros to his list after buying Too Bossy For Us yesterday for 330,000gns.
Owned throughout his racing career to date by Amo Racing, the three-year-old gelding has one win to his name, but was a good third off a BHA mark of 91 on his penultimate start in a heritage handicap at Ascot in September.
Kirk added: "This lad has a bit more class than yesterday's horse, and he could even be a sort to drop back in trip. He is very light on his feet, a good mover and he has again been bought as a dual-purpose type." (15:01)
Lot 969 and Lot 970: Sheikh Sultan Ding, buying online, goes to 110,000gns for Pedro Valentino (Lot 969) formerly trained by Clive Cox. The son of Phoenix Of Spain, Timeform rated 96, is the winner of three races over6f and 7f for owner Oak Lodge Racing.

Lot 915: the Exceed And Excel colt Sunny Street is bought by Blandford Bloodstock for 50,000gns.

Lot 869: another by Golden Horn catches the bidders' attention – Environment Amigo, sold by James Fanshawe's Pegasus Stables for the Gredley family, is bought by Highflyer Bloodstock for 50,000gns.
The three-year-old gelding has won two of his last three starts, over 1m6f and 2m, the two performances sandwiching a second-place finish at Yarmouth over 1m6f. Out of the Motivator mare Madame Defarge, who finished third in the Pretty Polly Stakes (L) and is the dam of three winners, Environment Amigo is now BHA rated 83.
It is the long-developed Gredley middle-distance pedigree – third dam Rostova is the dam of the 1992 European champion three-year-old stayer User Friendly, winner of the St Leger and a three-time Oaks winner. (12:53)
Lot 808: Highflyer Bloodstock spends 75,000gns on Courageous Strike, trained by Adrian Murray to win two races from 15 starts.
Last time out the colt stepped up to Group 3 form to take second in the Irish St. Leger Trial Stakes, the first time he had raced over as far as 1m6f. (12:17)
Lot 805: Guy Mulcaster swings into action early, the agent buying Tazima (Awtaad) from Jamie Railton for Chris Waller Racing for 210,000gns.

Lot 752: Caviar Heights is bought by Hurworth Bloodstock for 520,000gns, and the son of Sea The Stars is heading across town from Park Paddocks to join the William Haggas team at Somerville Lodge.
"He is staying in Newmarket and going to my parents," said Sam Haggas of the colt previously trained this year by Karl Burke for Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum. "He is for some existing owners in the yard, who have been great supporters of my parents and myself; it is a great result.
"I hope the horse can develop into an international campaigner, my parents have had a lot of success taking horses to Sydney for the Autumn Carnival and I hope he can develop into that sort of horse, that would be the dream.
"He has been on my radar – and as one of the highest in Europe on my radar really – since after his runs in the spring, He had some very good form on his first run in Fielden Stakes behind Jayarebe, and Ambiente Friendly was a place behind him – he went onto win the Lingfield Derby Trial and was placed in two Derbys.
"Caviar Heights then put in a massive performance when he won the Newmarket Stakes, it was so impressive, especially on the clock. He beat a very good yardstick in Sayedaty Sadaty and beat him well, and that horse went on to hold up the form in the when running to a similar level [fifth] in the Derby. The Derby has some very good form lines this year, it looks a strong Derby."
Haggas added: "I am hoping that this horse can get back to that level of form, and if he can, they can have a lot of fun with him."
Of Caviar Heights' sire Sea The Stars: "Dad has been very lucky to have had the association he has had with Sea The Stars, he absolutely adores the stallion and loves training the stock. He has had some phenomenal days with his progeny, I am thinking Sea Of Class and Baaeed, there is a bit of a way to go to them! I know Dad is delighted to have a horse like this coming to his stable."
Of the nerves as the bidding climbed its heights, Haggas said: "It was not too bad, I always feeling the same when bidding whatever the amount."
Bred by Norelands & Sunderland Holding Inc, Caviar Heights was bought as a yearling by Andrew Balding in the October Book 2 Sale for 300,000gns from Norelands. (20:51)
Lot 749G: wildcard entry Delius, a Group 3 winner of the Prix du Lys, third in the Grand Prix de Paris (G1), second in the Prix Niel (G2) and eighth in the Arc de Triomphe (G1) creates a new record price for the Autumn Horses in Training Sale when bought by De Burgh Equine / McKeever Bloodstock / Go Bloodstock / Waterhouse / Bott Racing for 1,300,000gns.
Alastair Donald was involved in the early exchanges but the bidding narrowed down to an online bidder and the above group, Hubie De Burgh taking instructions ver the phone and responding quickly to the online party's moves.
"It is a joint venture," said De Burgh. "It is for Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock, who has had some good horses including Lady Of Camelot, trained by Gai. He wants a Cup horse, and Gai did as well, so this joint venture came together."
Of the colt, bred by David and Trish Brown of Furnace Mill Stud, and owned in training by Magnier, Smith, Tabor & Westerberg, purchased as a yearling by MV Magnier for 675,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale in 2021, De Burgh said: "What can I say about him? He is a son of Frankel, he is Timeform rated 118, he has raced six times, he has won over 1m2f and 1m4f and he has a perfect profile for Australia. His only slight disappointing run was in the Arc when he hated the ground.
"It is a lot of money, but that is what this sort of horse costs. We have been trying to buy this horse for a long time and I had Stevie O'Connor, Sir Owen's racing manager, on the phone and he was quick to come back with the bids.
"It was going to be hard to buy the horse on our own, it is a lot of money, so by joining up with Gai and us all getting involved and it has given us this opportunity to compete with Chris Waller, Ciaron Maher and all the others." (20:31)
Lot 734: Astute Bloodstock / Ciaron Maher go to 410,000gns for Mr Monaco (Territories), the penultimate lot from the Imperium Sales draft. Gai Waterhouse's agent Claudia Fitzgerald standing with Johnny McKeever was underbidder.
The three-year-old, bred by Bearstone Stud, was originally purchased by Elliott as a yearling for just £35,000.
Will Bourne said: "We’ve cross referenced with Louis le Metayer of Astute Bloodstock. It’s always reassuring when a guy like him also wants to buy because he bought Harlem, the Australian Cup winner, here a few years ago. He wanted to team up to buy this horse, he picked him out and we really liked him too and Ciaron’s thrilled to get the chance to train him. He’s shown very consistent form and Louis loved his physique, as well as his ability as a three-year-old racing against the older horses."
Harlem (Champs Elysees) was bought by SackvilleDonald / Astute Bloodstock at this sale in 2016, the pair buying from Juddmonte Farms and spending 520,000gns.
After the sale of Black Run, the last of the draft through the ring, Elliott said: "They are four super horses, Mr Monaco was above where I though the would bem but when I saw Claudia lock up with Will Bourne, I could see the horse making a good price.
"It is a great price for Hutchence, I think he is a very good horse. He is just getting it together – he was a late foal and a late developer. He was very immature, but he has slowly got it all together. Ralph was very sweet on him and I think he could be a Cup horse next year.
"The Coles did a great job with Black Run, he is going to Australia, too, bought by Stuart Bowman of Blandford Bloodstock for Annabel Neasham Racing, while the first in the ring tonight King Of Bears was bought by George Scott."
Of this year's sale after Imperium debuted at the Autumn Horses in Training Sale last year, Elliott said: "They all made about what I thought, there was a couple of nice surprises. There was a lot of pressure after last year, I wanted to back those results up.
"The team did it and horses did it, and again I was very proud to stand there and see the horses sell well for the clients – it will keep the clients happy as there are a lot of yearlings to pay for!" (20:05)
Lot 733: Hutchence will be joining the plane load of horses heading to the southern hemisphere, bought by the regular Tattersalls buyer Guy Mulcaster for trainer Chris Waller, the team spending 460,000gns on the colt, wh owa sold by Alex Elliott's Imperium Sales for Valmont.
"He came highly recommended from the Beckett stable, we thought he had good form and we like the horse," said Mulcaster. "He is probably done it all on one preparation, so I think there is a little bit of juice still left in the lemon! We will take him home, poke along and see how we go.
"We won't be in any mad rush, he has done it all in such little time – I think he will keep finishing and will appreciate the sun on his back! I thought he would make that sort of money, it has been hard to buy this week."
The three-year-old, who ran twice at two, has now won three races from nine starts, winning over 2m on his last start of a handicap mark of 89 – he has been reassessed to 97 after that success.
Bred by Gerhard Schoeningh, as a yearling the colt was purchased from Fittocks Stud by Elliott at the 2022 October Book 1 Sale for 310,000gns (19:38)
Lot 727: the Group 3 winner Klondike (Galileo) is bought by Alastair Donald for 240,000gns from the William Haggas Somerville Lodge draft.
"He is for a new Hong Kong-based client, who was looking for a horse in Australia and this was our main target," said Alastair Donald. "He was a Group 3 winner, his form speaks for itself, he is a very good looking horse and I think it was a very sensible price. He goes to Australia, the options there are extraordinary and is probably going to be trained by He probably will be going to John O'Shea."
Klondike has form on both fast ground and a softer surface and this adaptability was one of his attractions for Donald.
"Sydney-based horses need to be able to handle the soft, but sound enough to take fast ground," he said. "In the old days it just used to be fast ground horses you wouldneed to buy, but for Sydney, anyway, you now need a pretty versatile horse ground-wise."
Donald added of his new client : "He bought his first horse in Singapore and he contacted me out of the blue."
Bred by Fittocks Stud, the four-year-old colt was raced in partnership of Jonsson/Magnier/Tabor/Fittocks Stud. He won the 1m4f Prix d Reux (G3) at Deauville in August, a third career success. (19:25)
Lot 695: it was a three-way split for the purchase of True Legend – the Camelot colt from Heath House Stables was bought by the Ian Williams / Jamie Piggott / Middleham Park for 140,000gns.
The four-year-old, second over 2m at the beginning of October at Ascot, running off a BHA mark of 92 for Sir Mark Prescott, is the winner of three races, his first career victory coming in a 0-65 handicap in which he was allotted a rating of 63.
The colt is out of the Peintre Celebre mare Scarlet And Gold, and she is a half-sister to the Prix du Jockey-Club winner Le Havre and the Group 3 winner Astronereus. It is also the family of the champion older sprinter Polar Falcon. (18:44)
Lot 679: Jacob Pritchard-Webb was taking a few deep breaths after buying the 95-rated Goodwood Odyssey for 110,000gns saying, "That was the first time I have spent over six figures on a horse, it was a bit nerve wracking, could you not tell by the facial expressions when I was bidding!"
While it would be supposed that the ex-NH jockey would be buying a middle-distance runner off the Flat to go jumping, the son of Ulysses is in fact taking a very different path, and is heading east to Czechia.
"Dr Jiri Charvat, one of the biggest owners in Czech, does have mainly jumpers and I got the contact through his retained NH jockey Jan Faltejsek, but the Dr also has a few on the Flat, too, and wanted to add to that string," explained Pritchard-Webb. "Jan recommended me and I met Dr Charvat in June at a qualifier for the Pardubice."
Pritchard-Webb, who has been developing his bloodstock agent's role for the last three years, added: "I have now bought Dr Charvat three horses all at considerably different costs and with differing profiles – the first was a three-year-old NH store who cost just £2,500, so they are certainly putting me through my paces! The order here was to get a three-year-old, rated over 90 and who wants 1m4f."
Of the plans now for Goodwood Odyssey, he said: "He will have a winter off now, the aim is to target him for some big pots in Czech and Slovakia next year, and if he does well we can then dip our toe into Germany and France. There is also a vey big race in Poland that he could target as well, while jumping might beckon in the future. " (18:28)
Lot 672: Mountain Bear, who finished third in the Grade 1 Turf Mile at Keeneland last time out, is bought by Wesley Ward, Ollie Sangster managing the bidding at Tattersalls on the trainer's behalf and going to 330,000gns to secure the three-year-old son of No Nay Never for the US-based trainer.
"He has been bought for Wesley," said Sangster. "The horse ran well last time at Keeneland, Wesley is looking for a nice miler who can perform at the top level and there should be a good chance the horse can pull back that price in prize-money."
Mountain Bear, bred by Whisperview Trading Ltd, is a Listed winner and was Grade 1-placed as a juvenile in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. He is Timeform rated 113.
His dam Holy Alliance is a Holy Roman Emperor half-sister to the Jersey Stakes (G3) and Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Ishvana, and it is the further family of the Group 1 winners and Champions Greek Dance, Islington, Fiorente and Hellenic. (17:43)
Lot 667: Saudi Arabia’s Prince Saud bin Salman's SBS Global goes to 160,000gns to buy Meriwether Lewis, sold by Coolmore.
He is a three-year-old son of Quality Road and out of the Group 3-winning Galileo mare Kissed By Angels, a daughter of the dual Group 1 winner Lillie Langtry and a half-sister to the two-time champion Minding, the Oaks winner Tuesday and the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Empress Josephine
Meriwether Lewis was a winner of a 7f maiden on his last start as a two-year-old and has not run since. (17:40)
Lot 638: Saudi owner Thamer Alosaimi has big hopes for the International Cup on the Saudi Cup card 2025, buying Iron Lion for the race, Alosaimi's friend and racing manager Mubarak Al-Ruwis al Otaibi at Tattersalls on purchasing duties spending 210,000gns on the grey gelding.
The four-year-old son of Roaring Lion, bred and raced by the Turnbull family's Elwick Stud, has been a progressive horse this summer, improvement which has been reflected in his handicap mark which has increased from 80 to 96, he picked up his last win in July at Ripon over 1m4f off a mark of 91.
"The horse is going straight to Saudi and to trainer Baden Alsubai, Thamer Alosaimi has horses in training with him already and he also purchased here last year, spending 425,000gns on Sea The Casper," said Al Otaibi. "The owner is dreaming of taking part in the Saudi International, and is hoping this horse will take him there. He is a versatile horse and any ground will suit, we think this horse will be the right horse to take Alosaimi to the big day." (16:52)
Lot 594: Monkey Island becomes the fifth purchase for Najd Stud / Archdale Bloodstock at this sale so far – the team going to 90,000 for the son of Starspngledbanner, sold by The Castlebridge Consignment.
Bred by Cheveley Park Stud, he is the winner of one, trained by Brian Meehan for Manton Thoroughbreds VIII. (16:23)
Lot 586: from the second draft offered by Imperium Sales, Nigel Tinkler Bloodstock /Jamie Piggott go to 105,000gns for the winner Whiskey Pete.
The three-year-old by Night Of Thunder is out of Dorcas Lane, a Listed winner and Group 2-placed daughter of Norse Dancer. She is dam of three winners, two of whom have won black-type races, with Candleford, her 2018-born son of Kingman, also Group 1 placed.
Whiskey Pete has run 11 times, won once and finished in the placings six times. In his three runs since the beginning of September he has finished second twice and third last week at Doncaster over a mile on soft ground. (15:31)
Lot 568: the Australian-based Matthew Smith Racing goes to 135,000gns for the Coolmore-consigned Portland, a three-year-old son of Dubawi.
The colt has plenty of black-type form being a Listed winner of the 1m4f King George V Nijinsky Stakes at Leopardstown, third placed in the 7f Criterium de Saint Cloud (G1) , the 7f Futurity Stakes (G2) and the 1m5f Bahrain Trophy (G3).
He is out of the Galileo mare Zagitova, who was a Group 2 third placed in the Debutante Stakes and Group 1 fourth in the Moyglare Stud Stakes. She is a half-sister to the Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1) winner Garswood. (15:30)
Lot 554: Atlantic Coast is bought by Australian trainer Henry Dwyer for 340,000gns, bought in association with Hurworth Bloodstock.
Formerly in training with Jospeh O'Brien, the Kodiac colt boasts a Group 3 win in the Killavullen Stakes as a two-year-old, a Listed win at three in the Prix Matchem on his latest start, as well Group and Listed placed form at two and three.
His form has come mainly at 7f and a mile, and his new trainer said: "We generally come over here to look for horses who are going to get 1m4f and up to 2m, but he is just such a lovely horse and we think that his form over a mile and 7f will stretch out to 1m2f in Australia.
"He is just a lovely physical, has a lovely head on him, Kodiacs have done well in Australia and Joseph [O'Brien] has trained him well. For a horse who has had a bit of racing at three and a bit of travelling, he looks in such good order, a beautiful mature to him. We are so pleased to have him and be able to take him back to Australia, he is going to be a great bit of fun."
Of plans, Dwyer said: "We will just get him back, he will be an autumn carnival horse and, given that he is a stakes winner and his rating is high enough, he will stakes class horse landing so we have got to pick our races a little bit. He will be a Melbourne Autumn Carnival type or maybe Adelaide. He goes on top of the ground as well as with xur in the ground, too, so he might be a Brisbane winter horse – they get soft tracks there, which he likes.
"He is a ready-made horse to land in Australia and get to the stakes races with. We sent out an Expression Of Interest form to our owners before we came over, we had some good interest so we have a lot of owners ready to go for a horse like this. Hopefully, some more will jump on, too – don't anyone be afraid to take a look at the website!" (14:22)
Lot 525: Too Bossy For Us is bought by Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins for 330,000gns, the gelding by Golden Horn purchased from Kevin Philippart de Foy's Induna Stables draft with a dual purpose career in mind.
The action kicked off at 200,000gns and bids came from all around the ring until Kirk, standing at he bottom of the bidders' area, proved to have too much firepower and saw off the opposition.
"I did not expect to have to pay that!" he said. " I knew he was going to be very popular, I think he has been vetted seven times and Australia was going to be very strong on him. He is a beautiful horse, he is very progressive, he looks as if he is going to stay a good trip and he can only improve. I have not seen a nicer horse in a long, long time.
"He is by Golden Horn who is very sexy, even for jumping prospects Golden Horn is very sexy and his stats on the Flat are excellent. This is the first one by him that I have bought.
"This horse is also out of a High Chaparral mare so he is almost guaranteed to stay longer distances. We have bought him to be a Royal Ascot and Melbourne Cup horse, but he will go jumping first and before that he will be gelded. He is a long-term project and he is super model of a horse, I could not fault him and he vetted well, and is the stand-out for today. He is for an existing owner in the yard."
Of the price, Kirk added: "With the prize-money available abroad, there is so much of a market for these staying types, you've got jumping people, as well as those from Bahrain, Australia all looking for horses to over a 1m4f and more."
Of this year's Mullins Melbourne Cup challenge with Vauban, Kirk said: "Willie goes to Australia tomorrow. I am not heading down, I have to stay and do some work!" (13:21)
Lot 509: Ramzi Alghul buys again going to 180,000gns for Arabian Angel, who is purchased on behalf of an unnamed Dubai-based client.
"He is by Dark Angel and everyone loves Dark Angel!" he said. "We have bought horses for Dubai before by him and they have gone on well – when you buy something and it works, you go back again!
"We looked at his form and his confirmation, I could not fault him and he is only two. His form is good, his win has probably made him more expensive! He goes to Bhupat Seemar."
The colt, trained by Karl Burke, has run three times and, after finished second twice, won at Southwell on October 5 over 7f for owner Linden Bloodstock. (12:49)
Lot 427: Najd Stud / Archdale Bloodstock, the buyers of five yearlings at this month's earlier October Yearling Sale, spend 100,000gns on Walter Hartright (Saxon Warrior), a first purchase at this sale for the team.
Sold by Ed Dunlop Racing, the three-year-old, who has a BHA mark of 87, has run 14 times, winning four times over 1m4f and 1m3f100yds.
It is the second time Walter Hartright has been through the Autumn Horses in Training sale ring – Dunlop paid 26,000gns for him here last year when buying him as an unraced juvenile colt. (11:26)
Lot 419: The Ice Phoenix is bought for the Libyan interests, the colt purchased in the Tattersalls sale ring under the guidance of Dr Khaled Salami, who signed as KGS at 215,000gns.
Sold by Faringdon Place Stables, the colt, who has run seven times and won two races, is by Phoenix Of Spain and out of the mare Bratislava (Dr Fong).
"He may go to France or to Dubai,"said Salami after purchase. "Plans are open. He is a good-looking horse, a nice physical, is just a three-year-old and has much more to come."
The Ice Phoenix, trained by Charlie Hills, won at Southwell on his penultimate start over a mile and off a BHA mark of 84. He is now rated 87 and was fourth last time out at Kempton in a competitive London Mile Series qualifier.
Salami is no stranger to the Tattersalls ring – last December he bought the Danehill Dancer mare Azenzar for 16,000gns. She became a Group 1-winning dam last weekend with the Futurity Stakes success for her Too Darn Hot juvenile colt Hotazhell. (10:48)
Lot 406: Julie Camacho goes to 35,000gns to buy Divine Legacy, a 2022-born colt by Siyouni and out of God Given (Nathaniel).
Bred and owned by St Albans Bloodstock Llp, the colt has run three times for Ed Bethall, finishing second last time out at Beverley beaten just a neck by The Trickster. The form is looking good as the winner has been successful again since, reported after that success to be a "fair middle-distance prospect for next year". (10:08)
Lot 398: Gordon Elliott strikes early for the Manduro gelding Wendrock going to 82,000gns for the three-year-old.
Sold by Consign Ltd for trainer Lucinda Russell, Wendrock has run twice over 1m3f and 1m4f, finishing third on both starts – his last start coming in a novice stakes at Ascot, the post-race report stating that he should have "no trouble winning races".

Lot 336: Aragon Castle (Territories), out of the Sea The Stars mare Wearing Wings is sold by Kingsclere Training Stables to OP Dubai for 210,000gns.
The colt is a winner since the catalogued was published, successful at Ayr over a mile and off a BHA mark of 92, the victory leading the handicapper to increase the gelding's rating to 96.
An October Book 1 graduate, Aragon Castle has won three times for owner Mick and Janice Mariscotti. (20:05)
Lot 327E: one of the day's expected stars did not disappoint, Monumental, the wildcard entry from Coolmore, fetched 325,000gns, the son of Kingman bought by Omar Esmil Ghrghar.
Ramzi Alghul, at Tattersalls and in charge of the purchasing operations for Ghrghar, said: "He will be trained either in France of Dubai, plans are open at the moment. He was a stand-out for us today, he is a very nice horse and has been Group 2 placed and trained by Aidan O'Brien. He is a perfect fit for us and if he goes to Dubai he will be trained by Bhupat Seemar."
Monumental finished third last time out in the Somerville Tattersalls Stakes (G3) on September 26, second in the Champagne Stakes (G3) on September 14, and he won his maiden on September 3 at Gowran Park.
The Libyian-based Ghrghar purchased four horses at this year's July Sale, including another wildcard entry, The Campden Colt, for the quartet's top price of 130,000gns. Ghrghar was that sale's leading buyer with an outlay of 417,000gns.
Bred by Barronstown Stud, Monumental is out of the Dubawi mare Riga, who was Listed placed in France. She is dam of the Group 3 winner Tantheem and grand-dam of Facteur Cheval, winner of this year's Dubai Turf (G1) and second to Charyn at the recent British Champions Day meeting at Ascot in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (G1). (18:43)
Lot 322: the two-year-old Rebel Diamond is another Richard Brown / Blandford Bloodstock purchase, the agent going to 300,000gns to secure the colt by Cotai Glory. He was in training with Natalia Lupini.
The juvenile boasts high-class form – he won the 6f Blenheim Stakes (L) at Fairyhouse in September, having previously won his maiden and an EBF auction race.
Brown said: "He has been progressive, won his last three starts including a Listed race last time out. We have no plans as yet. He was very well presented, he looked great, plenty of size and scope to continue his career as a three-year-old and he does not look overtrained." (18:24)
Lot 308: the No Nay Never three-year-old colt Master of The Hunt is sold by Coolmore to SBS Global for 220,000gns. He won his maiden in June at Gowran Park over a mile.
He is out of Flower Fashion (Flower Alley), who was a winner of three races in France and the US, and twice Listed placed in France. (18:07)
Lot 299: Garfield Shadow, by James Garfield and out of Lara's Theme (Lawman), is sold by Richard Fahey's Musley Bank Stables to Blandford Bloodstock for 310,000gns.
Rated 96, and a runner-up in a 0-105 handicap at Ascot at the beginning of October, he has only once finished out of the frame in nine career starts, including taking a third spot in a competitive 17-runner premier handicap at Leopardstown in September.
"He is a talented horse, I bought him for Sheikh Juma at the [Tattersalls Ireland] Breeze Up Sale and have now bought him for a different client,"said Richard Brown. "I have followed him all the way through, he is a very good looking horse, very sound, a very consistent horse and always runs his race, wherever he continues his career, I have no doubt he will continue to give his new owners plenty of fun." (17:50)
Lot 263: Go Daddy, also from the Linkslade team, makes 350,000gns and will be joining the Ciaron Maher team, bought by Ciaron Maher Racing / JS Bloodstock.
"He profiles perfectly for Australia and I was chatting to Ciaron and he loved him and how consistent he was,"said Will Bourne. "The plan is to keep him in work here with Harry [Eustace] then he’ll go down on the horses-in-training flight and we’ll target the Manion Cup, which Haggas has done really well in with Favourite Moon and Post Impressionist. We’ll aim to run him off the plane during the Sydney Carnival.
“We’ll run him off the plane. We usually buy in our spring and then bring them out, but Harry has prepared horses like Sir Dragonet for us to win a Cox Plate, so Ciaron has full faith in Harry and they work very well together.
“Our max was 400,000gns and I’d have been thrilled to get him for 250,000gns, so anywhere between is pretty much bang on. He has that perfect profile for Australia so I don’t think he was missed by anyone.”
Go Daddy is the winner of one race – a 1m2f Nottingham handicap won off a BHA mark of 83 last October– but he has finished in the places six times, including two thirds in Group 3 races – the 1m6f Deutsches St Leger at Dortmund in September and the 1m5f Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury in August.
He is BHA rated 105, and was fourth last time out in the Listed Noel Murless Stakes at Ascot over 1m6f.
He was bought by Muir from Diego Dias Bloodstock at the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale in 2023 for €50,000.
Muir, who has sold eight horses today for a gross of 802,000gns and an average price of 100,250gns, said: "Go Daddy and Freddy will go on, and Spaceport was cheap at 100,000gns, he has got so much to come, all three of those horses do. They are really nice horses with big potential.
"I bought 12 yearlings last week, so we did get round and picked up a few, hopefully the clients who sold today will reinvest." (17:05)
Lot 259: Pat Sells, standing in the bidders, buys the 88-rated Fearless Freddy, a winner of three races over 7f and a mile, from the Willie Muir and Chris Grassick yard of Linkslade Stables.
"He going Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young in Cranbourne, Victoria," reported Pat Sells after spending 280,000gns on the Territories gelding, signing as Busuttin Racing / JP Bloodstock.
"I bought a horse for them called Craig last year, he finished second in the Toorak Handicap (G1) last week and this horse is almost a carbon copy – and both are by Territories. I went to see him at Willie's [Muir's] last week and William describes him as a 'tiger' – if you watch his win at York, every time I watch the replay, you think he couldn't win from where he was, but he has a great turn of foot on soft ground over a mile, it is what we are looking for for Australia."
Sells adds: "Hopefully, he is another Craig. It was theYork run that really put him on the radar for us. He vetted cleanly, there was lots of interest in him, it is a lot of money, but these owners have had success with horse like him – he is a Territories out of a Motivator mare, Craig is by the same sire and out of New Approach mare.
"William will tell you this horse has a bombproof mentality, he wants to win, but you have to pay money for that. Ideally, we would have preferred to pay closer to 200,000gns, but we knew we had to go a bit further." (16:45)
Lot 236: Desperate Hero is heading to Dubai, purchased by Stuart Boman of Blandford Bloodstock as a Carnival prospect.
The Captain Gerrard four-year-old sprint gelding, previously in training with Jack Channon for Norman Court Stud and partner, cost his new connections 300,000gns.
"He is one of those horses, who, when I went through the replays and form, is hard not to like. He has great action, a powerful stride, he has roared through the handicap and turned into a Group 1 horse. He always puts in, I just wanted to get him and loved him from the moment I started researching him and following him.
"He is going to Dubai for the Carnival. It is a division that is that sometimes falls a bit flat, Godolphin mainly has horses in the mile and over distance range, there is a good series for sprinters and, hopefully, he is one for the Al Quoz Sprint and will be there on World Cup night. He is for a client.
"I thought he might have made a bit more with his rating – he has been fourth in a Group 1 and was not beaten far in the Flying Five before that. He is a horse who keeps showing up, runs his race, is an enthusiastic horse, and he had a clean vetting."
Desperate Hero has run 24 times, won six races, and been placed five times. He won a Hamilton handicap over 5f off a BHA mark 91 in June and finished third in the Coral Charge (G3) at Sandown in July, sixth in the Flying Five Stakes (G1) at The Curragh in September and fourth in October's Prix de l'Abbaye (G1). (16:01)
Lot 187: will be jumping hurdles in future – Filibustering bought by Megan Nicholls for cousin trainer Harry Derham, the pair having enjoyed success at Cheltenham at the weekend with Givemefive.
"I am absolutely delighted,"said Nicholls. "I followed this horse with interest in the summer, I have really liked his progress, he loves soft ground which is a positive and he reminds me a bit of Givemefive, he is a fairly similar type to him and he can replicate what he did at the weekend it would be great. He is that sort of model.
"He will be going juvenile hurdle so, hopefully, we will see him in the coming months. He has been bought for an owner, who already has a couple of horses with Harry, but it is the first I have bought for them and great to get one bought at the horses in training sale this year.
The three-year-old gelding, who won over 1m6f in May and finished second over the same trip on soft and heavy ground on his last two starts this autumn, is by Postponed. The son of Dubawi now stands as NH stallion at Yorton Farm. (14:29)
Lot 178: Eben Zaabeel, the first in the ring this week by leading sire Sea The Stars, is bought for 100,000gns by Colm Sharkey, who signed the docket for SARM Racing.
The three-year-old gelding, bred and owned by Shadwell, has now run seven times, and although is still a maiden, finished second on his last two starts over 1m3f and 1m4f, off a BHA rating of 79.
He is out of the Listed-winning, Group 3-placed Yaazy (Teofilo) from the family of Ribchester, Bangkok and Matterhorn. (14:10)
Lot 138: Alastair Donald of Sackville Donald, standing in his usual place by the back door, was left as an underbidder after having to concede to Blandford Bloodstock's Richard Brown, who was also his usual bidding spot up on the left stairs, for Skipper at 200,000gns.
"He is a progressive type, and is out of a half-sister to Kinross who has got better with age," said Brown. "He did not act on softer ground last time, he has been bought for an existing client, and plans are fluid."
Bred by Lawn Stud, a first foal out of the Exceed And Excel mare Skipinnish, and raced by Julian Richmond-Watson, Skipper, a three-year-old son of Calyx, won his maiden over a mile at Chelmsford in August and finished mid-division in a handicap over the same trip at Haydock in September.
He is Timeform rated 104. (13:02)
Lot 114: "He has been bought for the US-based syndicate Pocket Aces Racing," said Ted Durcan after spending 100,000gns on Misty Memories, a colt by Kodiac and previously trained by Richard Hughes, sold today by his Weathercock House Stables,
"He is a maiden still, which is of real benefit to go to the US, will possibly go to trainer Brendan Walsh and has been bought to run on the Turf or synthetics."
He is a horse known well to Durcan: "I bought him from the breeze-ups [Tattersalls Ireland 2024, €120,000] and obviously know him well and have followed his form. This is the first horse I have purchased for Pocket Aces Racing."
By Kodiac, Misty Memories finished a good second last time at Kempton to Godolphin's Masai Moon, and has finished third, fourth and second on his three starts to date.
He is from the extended family of Galeota, Brown Sugar, Burnt Sugar, Charyn and Wings Of War. (12:26)
Lot 73: trainer Simon Dow spends 55,000gns on the Sergei Prokofiev two-year-old Majestic Wave previously trained by John O'Donoghue and a winner last time out of a 19-runner maiden over 6f at Navan on October 9.
In four starts the colt has not finished out of the first two places after his debut, when he came home in fourth. He has been given a Timeform rating 88.
Bred by Whitwell Bloodstock and Magnolia Bloodstock, he is out of the Stimulation Duchess of Cambridge Stakes (G3) third placed Tongue Twista, the dam of five winners from six runners. (12:08)
Lot 68: the first to a six-figure sum today is Jareth, the first in the ring from of the Baroda Stud consignment. The two-year-old gelding was bought by Ciaran Maher Racing / JS Bloodstock for 140,000gns.
Will Bourne, head of bloodstock for Maher, is at Tattersalls with Billy Jackson Stops, the pair bidding from the back stairs.
"He will go to Ciaran, we will get him into the Australian system and, hopefully, he will go through the grades," said Bourne. "I love his progression, he is a young horse, I loved his improvement from his first start to his second – he has shown that he has talent and you never know where they end up. The high handicap mark he was given on that last start was not that advantageous for us, but I guess it was justified."
The gelding, bred by Herbertstown House Stud and owned in training by Dr Marcella Burns, is out of the winning Mastercraftsman mare Diylawa, a half-sister to Diamil (Awtaad), a dual Group 3 winner in Australia. It is the family of the two-time Australian Group 1 runner-up Dibayani. (11:33)
Lot 20: trainer Hamad Al Jehani goes to 30,000gns for the Footstepsinthesand gelding Morello Man, offered by Keatley Racing Ltd.
The two-year-old, from the family of the Group 1 winner Chachamidee, has run once when second at Pontefract last week over 6f, Timeform reporting that the colt "will improve".
This summer the Qatari trainer Al Jehani has sent out nine winners from his Newmarket stables, his first stint based in the UK. (10:33)
