Nellie Pledge showed plenty of promise on her debut at Kilfeacle at the end of January, finishing a six-length second to Kilganer Queen in a mares' maiden. A below par effort at Belharbour was quickly brushed aside as the Dubai Destination mare lived up to the promise she had shown earlier when posting a six-length victory at Horse and Jockey in the hands of Roger Quinlan. The five-year-old travelled well in behind the leaders throughout, and had little trouble in brushing aside what was the biggest field of the day at Horse and Jockey. The daughter of Dubai Destination appeared to relish the softer underfoot conditions and showed a nice turn of foot when quickening well on the run-in. She looks the type who will continue to improve with racing.
